The year-long Battle of the Beans competition, sponsored by Selati, drew to a close with the presentation of awards to 27 top-performing coffee shops in KwaZulu-Natal. Additionally, Keagon Chavoos of Crane Flower Coffee in Kloof was crowned the province's top barista, further highlighting the excellence of KZN's coffee culture.
The competition, which saw a team of 30 incognito judges visiting over 250 coffee shops across the province, aimed to recognize and celebrate the stalwarts of coffee culture in KwaZulu-Natal. Furthermore, it served as a benchmark for newcomers to set the bar for quality and excellence in the hospitality industry.
